Interesting trends and facts about M&A transactions in the SME sector

With its current DACH Monitor for the second half of 2020, the transaction platform Dealsuite provides comprehensive insights into trends and data on the SME M&A market.
The results are based on a survey of 385 M&A consulting firms, in which omegaconsulting also participated. Important findings at first glance:
- The average EBITDA multiple is 5.90. A K-shaped recovery is visible in the market.
- The availability of M&A financing is declining slightly. No easing of financing conditions and no rise in interest rates expected.
- Entrepreneurs prefer to sell companies to strategic buyers. Financial investors prefer to sell to other financial investors.
