Business climate in the SME sector is rising, but concerns about a crash are growing
| According to the KfW-ifo SME Barometer from May 2022, the slight improvement in sentiment among SMEs continued in May for the second month in a row. Nevertheless, the business climate is still far below the level prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Moreover, this time only situation assessments are improving, while business expectations are becoming even more pessimistic. Companies are looking into an economic abyss.
