Holger Kopietz, experienced omegaconsulting consultant and expert in finance and controlling, called and all the northerners came: The nationwide consulting firm omegaconsulting founded a northern group on January 29, 2016. The aim is to offer clients even more regional expertise in the areas of company succession, MBI/MBO and HR consulting.

In the offices of the Innoreal communications agency in Hanover, the kick-off workshop focused on getting to know each other better, networking, clarifying project and process workflows and initial ideas for specific joint projects: Innoreal managing director, coach and omegaconsulting partner Gudrun Jay-Bößl moderated the meeting of the 10 consultants from the northern German states.

Succession and SME experts, tax consultants, auditors, interim managers and coaches:
At omegaconsulting’s Northern Group, clients can find three categories of consultants:

  • The experienced succession consultants and advisors take care of the core process.
  • When it comes to tax, law and auditing, for example, the representatives of these expert groups are also involved.
  • Topics such as coaching in succession processes, internal and external communication of the respective buyer or seller company through to interim management and marketing and sales support form the third pillar of the group

Three new faces from the fields of tax consulting, auditing and interim management enriched the Northern Group and were particularly impressed by the flexibility of the omegaconsulting network: “Here there are clear quality criteria, a strong brand with reliable support, but no gimmicks.

Jean-Claude Baumer, Managing Director of omegaconsulting, who has traveled all the way from omegaconsulting’s southern German headquarters in Landshut, says: “We provide added value to the various client groups when it comes to succession. To do this, we need internally experienced partners from different professions. All people who work best when they cooperate voluntarily in the interests of the customer. The customer – whether company seller, buyer, investor or HR manager – benefits from this structure.”

The autumn conference of the SME Consultants’ Association took place in Bonn on November 6 and 7 under the heading “Cooperation – securing the future for companies and consultants”.

Gerlinde Baumer, Partner at omegaconsulting, was also an interested participant. “A very comprehensive program with exciting experience reports and presentations. The personal exchange between members and guests in particular showed how important cross-regional networking and cooperation on the topic of company succession is,” reported Ms. Baumer.

On November 20, Ms. Baumer was officially accepted as another omegaconsulting partner in the association DIE KMU-Berater Bundesverband freier Berater e.V.. Ms. Baumer will be active in the South-East regional group in the future. In addition, Ms. Baumer is currently qualifying at the SME Academy as an SME succession consultant.

 

Partners for successful company succession for 10 years: the BDU Association for Founding, Development and Succession and the nexxt change company exchange. During its trade association meeting at the beginning of October at KfW in Berlin, the BDU trade association looked back on the cooperation. Jean-Claude Baumer and Claudia Heinzel, Managing Director and Partner at omegaconsulting respectively, were also present. “This partnership is very important – especially for providers and consumers. The BDU currently appoints 16 regional partners to advise on company succession. This allows us to support the process at an early stage and ensure that it runs as smoothly as possible,” explains Jean-Claude Baumer.

The special importance of the BDU succession experts was also emphasized by KfW representative Reinhart Gumlich in his presentation: Of the current 792 regional partners, the 16 BDU regional partners supported around one in ten of the published offers and almost one sixth of the published applications in the first half of 2015. In terms of placements, 7.6 percent of total placements were attributable to BDU regional partners.

Company succession is unfamiliar territory: it is usually the first time for both the seller and the buyer. Helmut Hajek is a professional and knows: “A regulated company succession is essential for survival – to secure the future of the business and jobs.” But the handover is difficult: what does the “ideal” successor look like and how do you find them? How should the handover process work? How do you avoid conflicts?

First-hand solutions: Helmut Hajek, Managing Director and founder of omegaconsulting, will be a guest speaker at the “Unternehmensnachfolge aktuell” lecture series of the Nuremberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce. On November 3, under the title “Tips for optimal succession planning”, he will describe strategies for finding the right successor. The succession expert will use a best practice example to outline a successful handover.

In his presentation, Helmut Hajek addresses both business owners who want to hand over their company and candidates who are interested in company succession.

 

The management team is growing: Jean-Claude Baumer joined company founder Helmut Hajek and Uwe Kehlenbeck to form the new management team at omegaconsulting in September 2015. “Chairs with three legs are the most stable. It’s the same with us now,” says a delighted Uwe Kehlenbeck about the new set-up.

Jean-Claude Baumer enriches the partner network with his profound market and technology expertise and his industry focus on electrical and mechanical engineering. In addition to two degrees from the Technical University of Munich – a degree in electrical engineering and a degree in industrial engineering – the 49-year-old has many years of experience in technological B2B sales at internationally active companies.

Jean-Claude Baumer discovered his passion for SMEs in practice: during his successful career in the management of a family business and a management consultancy – with a focus on corporate succession. omegaconsulting intends to offer its clients an even broader portfolio in future with the support of the new managing director.

Afterwards, everyone agreed: “It’s great to work here.” The omegaconsulting team inaugurated its new offices in Landshut with an after-work party. The relaxed setting – with culinary delights and a drink – was used by partners, invited guests and employees to get to know each other and exchange ideas.
