Despite the pandemic and Ukraine–war: Wa growing demand intensifies shortage of skilled workers
| According to the latest KfW Skilled Labor Barometer, 44% of all companies were affected by a shortage of skilled workers in April 2022. This means that a lack of skilled workers has once again become a far more frequent obstacle to production than before the pandemic. All sectors of the economy are affected. In the manufacturing sector, around 40% of companies saw their business activities hampered by a shortage of skilled workers, by far the highest proportion in the last 30 years.
